Some, like her old friend Joao, give her some important advice. While on Olympus, Yara is solely under the view of the Gods, on Earth she can be influenced by multiple factors. Fortunately, she has the excuse of needing to briefly return to Earth to reunite with an old friend to give her a break-and that’s where her perspective takes a major shift. By the time Eros suggests she drink the elixir of the Gods and become one of them permanently, I think she’s getting the sense things may be a little off-and so are we. Yara isn’t a natural fit for godhood, but the Gods all seem to have conspired to make her one of them. She’s also decided she wants a mighty pegasus to be her steed, but the temperamental winged horse has other ideas. Hera has chosen her as her champion, and Yara is learning the ways of combat from the ancient centaur Chiron. At the end of last issue, she was recruited/dragooned by Eros and now resides on Olympus-where her training has entered a new level. There was a tad bit of controversy when the second Ame-Comi Wonder Woman statue was unveiled, as readers thought the look was more hooker than warrior. Instead of putting clothes on, the Spring Break Look could have been an option, complete with sparkly sandals, and T-back. For those that think Wonder Woman needs to cover up, DC could gone in this direction. Whenever Diana had to jump in the ocean, she whipped up this lovely costume. It could have been worse, the company could have just added a pair of black hose and called it good. Just Add Black Hose LookĪ lot of people don’t like the pants in the new Wonder Woman costume. This look by Mike Deodato interpretation was worn by Diana when she lost the costume and Wonder Woman title to Artemis during the Wonder Woman: The Contest and Wonder Woman: The Challenge of Artemis years. It keeps the stars and stripes theme that everyone likes, but in order to keep Wonder Woman warm when she travels to the Great White North the costume gets the knit wool and jeans treatment.
